The Hopkins Public Schools are in their third year of a 1:1 iPad rollout in Junior High. Starting with 7th grade, Hopkins has added one grade level each year while focusingon continued staff development to leverage the devices for learning. Hopkins also has an active student Genius Team supporting the 1:1 initiative in each building and an online learning platform called #hopkinsonline, designed to teach digital responsibility, ethics and online skills to students in the 1:1.

Hopkins is a leader in technology integration and digital content and will be hosting this premiere iOS for the second year in a row. Join teachers, technical staff, administrators and students from all over the region.

Holly Clark

Holly Clark is a technology and innovation specialist from San Diego, California. She has been helping teachers redefine instruction in their classrooms by overseeing both 1:1 iPad and Chromebooks pilots and helping schools implement digital literacy programs. She is a Google Certified Teacher, National Board Certified Teacher, and holds an MA in Technology in Education from Columbia University. She has been working with technology integration and 1:1 environments since 2003. Presently she consults with schools internationally on improving their iPad integration and using Google Apps for Education to empower learning. Holly has taught for over 16 years and is a former administrator.

Ben Friesen

Ben taught junior high science for 7 years and is now a Digital Content Specialist in the Hopkins Public Schools in Minnesota. He is Google Certified Teacher, an authorized Google Education Trainer and serves on the Google Geo Teachers Advisory Board. He enjoys traveling and sharing his passion for connecting students to the world. Ben is the Director of Professional Development – iOS Summits for the EdTechTeam.

Ken Shelton

Ken currently holds an M.A. in Education with a specialization in Educational Technology as well as New Media Design and Production. As a part of his active involvement within the Educational Technology community, Ken is an Apple Distinguished Educator and a Google Certified Teacher. Ken was also named to the California State Superintendent of Public Instruction Educational Technology Task Force. Ken, both nationally and internationally, regularly gives keynotes, presentations, and leads workshops, many of which are hands-on, covering a wide variety of Educational Technology, Technology Integration, Digital Age Literacies, Creative Expression, Photography, Visual Learning, Visual Storytelling, and Instructional Design topics. He formerly worked as an Educator for over 13 years, including teaching technology for 10 years at the Middle School level.
